Be a Traveler - Stay in an Amelia Island hotel for 2 nights, enter the Kingfish Tournament or the Fishing Rodeo and the first 20 will receive $250, plus be eligible to win an additional $2,500. The largest Kingfish or Cobia wins $1,000. The largest Sheepshead, Trout, Redfish, Flounder, or Sea Bass wins $1,000. All other Travelers that weigh a fish will be entered into a drawing for $500.
Tournament Information
The 42nd Fernandina Beach Kingfish Tournament and Fishing Rodeo presented by the Nassau Sport Fishing Association will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Fernandina Harbor Marina. The tournament features a Kingfish Division and more family oriented Inshore Fishing Rodeo Division. The Kingfish Division is sanctioned by the Southern Kingfish Association as part of their 2025 Tournament Trail national championship series. The Kingfish Tournament will feature an Eastern Boundry of 12 nautical miles limit shore. The Rodeo consists of 6 different species, Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead, Flounder, Cobia and Sea Bass. Every entrant can fish one or both divisions. Note: The Rodeo Division is open to Anglers fishing on the beach, bridges and public Docks. Fishing is not permitted from private docks or other private property. Rodeo Anglers may purchase live shrimp, fiddler crabs, mud minnows or sand fleas intended for use in the rodeo division only. Live registration will be available onsite Friday evening May 30, 2025 from 3pm - 8pm. There will be a mandatory captains meeting Friday at 7PM. The tournament will feature music, food and drinks, T-Shirt sales, a raffle, a Silent Auction and wrapping up on Saturday with the weigh-in from 2–5 pm and the awards ceremony afterwards. The event will be open to the public.
Please note that should weather conditions force a postponement, Sunday, June 1, 2025 is our rain date.
